It is with a heavy heart that I say, after five years of avoiding it, we have the covid-19 virus. Well, it’s a coronavirus of some variety, not sure how the variants work of if they have different names. Corona viruses have been around for-literally-ever. Horses have been getting it for a long time and are extremely susceptible to it. It’s their flu.

The wife developed symptoms first, low grade fever, weakness, cough, congestion, the works. Still smells things and tastes things so that’s good. I woke up this morning with that post nasal drip sore throat so… yeah. Awesome. I’ve placed a delivery order for all the usual suspects; Theraflu hot drink mix, Dayquil / Nyquil cause the world don’t stop, Vicks nasal pokey things, cough drops, the works. Delivery services are fantastic.
What really blows is that we’re going to be missing a really good time tonight. There’s music bingo at Stray Cats and we have a friend with a birthday whose festivities we’re missing. This, though, we do not want to spread. No telling when it arrived, but hopefully it will depart in good time.

I hope the recovery is swift, take care
I hope both you and your wife get better soon, Palmer!
